This type of thick floss is worth the higher cost over regular floss because of better contact with teeth. It expands when there is a wider gap between teeth, but is still able to fit in tighter spaces between my teeth. Because of the efficiency of this product, flossing is quicker that it has been with regular floss.
Another plus of drTungs Smart Floss is that this soft floss does not abrade my teeth like regular floss does (even waxed). This prevents sensitivity I have experienced immediately after using regular floss
